The Hand Crank Flipbook Machine invites the viewer to partake in animating the artwork. The hand-tooled mechanism is influenced by early 20th Century flipbook animations. The Flipbook Machine mechanism requires the viewer's participation in order to animate the multiple frames of delicate creatures, bringing them to life.

The Fluttering Series is a limited edition series of 250 Flipbook Machines. Each Flipbook Machine captures the precious fragility and playfulness of butterflies and moths as they flutter across the moving papers.
