The Black-Throated Mango Flipbook Machine is limited to 75 artworks. The Black Throated Mango hummingbird, native to South America, is the only predominantly green-colored bird of its species. The rich iridescent emerald plumage and jet-black-feathered throat inspired the original painting for this artwork.
This special Flipbook Machine was commissioned by the prestigious Art in Embassies U.S. Department of State program and is on permanent view in the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay.
It features 72 screen-printed archival inkjet papers. The hand-tooled stainless steel machine, bearings, and motor are all crafted in the artist's studio in Queens, NYC. This Flipbook Machine can be wall-mounted or placed on various surfaces. The motor will run for up to 72 hours of continuous operation with a single micro USB charge.
